Mechanical Engineering Design
and Drafting
Mechanical Engineering Design and Drafting for CERN's accelerators is carried
out using a number of Computer Aided Engineering applications. Apart from
their intrinsic qualities these tools, when used in a networked environment,
are a powerful means of communication and of sharing data amongst engineers
and designers . As we all know, sharing data is easier when it is organized
in a standard way for all involved. The documents available here describe
codes of practices applicable to accelerator design work carried out in
EST design offices and by collaborators outside CERN. The aim is to make
the sharing of models, drawings and other design related documents as painless
as possible.
